Illinois Trial Lawyers Association
As attorneys who represent injured clients, we need to adapt to the changes that the COVID-19 Pandemic has created and keep abreast of issues that impact our practices. The annual ITLA Workers' Compensation Seminar will feature discussions led by Chairman Michael Brennan, Commissioner Marc Parker, and Arbitrator Linda Cantrell regarding the implementation and continued progression of electronic filings with the Commission, as well as advice on how best to represent your clients electronically. Handling COVID-19 exposure cases, the ethics of practicing in the pandemic, as well as the intersection between workers' compensation and employment law issues will also be discussed. Other topics include heart attack cases and handling federal workers' compensation claims. Karolina Zielinska will also be speaking on her recent Supreme Court victory in McAllister v. Workers' Compensation Commission, a seminal case on the issue of accident.Expand summary
